Last time we talked about the first if the five principles for success – To Know your outcome – what you want.

Well what has happened since then?  What have you done?

The second principle for success is to Take Action.  You need to do something.

Some time ago I remember when the Law of Attraction was being talked about there were lots of people who would just sit and wait for their pot of gold to manifest at the foot of their rainbow.  Sometimes even magic needs a little help.

I think one of the first things we need to do is to think hard about where we are within ourselves.  If we choose to own our issues, to be accountable and take responsibility for ourselves and our outcomes we are living above the line, we are driving our own bus, we are empowered to take charge of our destiny.

When we elect to wait for someone else, to blame someone or something else for our situation, to find excuses (or reasons) why something hasn’t moved forward  or to deny there is an issue, then we are living below the line.  We have surrendered our personal power to take action and it’s all downhill from there.

There can be many reasons (or excuses) for not having done anything and these may include:

  • lack of understanding
  • lack of knowledge
  • lack of skill
  • lack of resources
  • fear of what lies ahead
  • fear of crossing that boundary that surrounds your comfort zone
  • fear of what others might say

and these are just some of the reasons for not taking action.

Without your taking action you will stay in the same place or fall further behind.  The longest journey starts with a single step.

That first step may be to hire a coach to help you help yourself move toward your outcome or you might decide to do a map.

Mapping out what you want can be very helpful.  It will give you a starting point, a place to see what lies ahead of you and what you need to do, who you need to be and what you need to have to accomplish your outcome.

Without taking some action, your dream will be just that, a dream.  When you take action, you breathe life into your dream and it begins to grow, to manifest, to happen.  When you have life in your dream you can feel it, it has become part of you and soon you develop a passion, a true passion which is fuelled by a raging fire.
