New Year’s Resolution – one year has ended and it’s the start of yet another year – a time when people make New Year’s Resolutions – after all we’re all looking for a brighter future.
Let me ask you – what will your New Year’s Resolution be? What do you want to be better next year and on a scale of 1 – 10 with 10 being totally committed, just how committed are you to achieving your resolution?
For most people, their New Year’s Resolution has become a thing of the past by the end of January. It’s the time of year when the holidays have come to an end, the kids are going back to school, you go back to work and before you know it, you’re back on the merry-go-round again.
I invite you to really give this some serious thought this year and when you have decided on what you want to make better, what you’re resolving to improve, make a plan and be ready to take serious action.
Serious action doesn’t mean you will be full-on doing whatever all the time when you are currently not doing anything. Serious action does mean –
- You are serious about what it is you want, and
- You are prepared to do something towards it on a consistent and persistent basis.
That’s like forming a new habit. When you do something consistently and persistently for 21 days, you are well on the way to forming a new habit. After all, how long have you been doing the old habit – the one that is no longer working for you?
So let’s hone your focus on that resolution, set a goal, make a plan and really commit to your outcome. Get yourself an accountability partner, someone to hold you to your commitment and you will be amazed at what you can achieve once you decide to take action.
Every champion deserves a coach – why not you?
